Next fall pilots

I am wondering if I am the only person on this planet who doesn't read Harry Potter books? At the moment it certainly feels that way.

Anyway, here are the next 2 fall pilots: Reunion and Head Cases. Unfortunately, the guy who posts the pilot screener will be away for a few weeks, ie. no more fall pilots. :( I still have 3 which I haven't watched and several comedies but I enjoyed making up my mind before the season started. I guess I now have to wait until September/October like everyone else.

Reunion
From FOX: Reunion chronicles the lives of a group of six friends over the course of 20 years – all in just one season. From the hopes and dreams of 18-year-olds to the realities that irrevocably mark those lives two decades later, Reunion's stories are of love and loss, marriage and death, triumph and scandal.

Just from the description I thought this was going to be absolutely horrible but it turned out better than I expected. However, I didn't find anything especially exciting or memorable; it was mainly boring and cheesy.

The only amusing thing for me personally was the memory of the horrible fashion and music in 1986 where most of the pilot takes place. I was 17 at that time so it was a bit a trip back the memory lane but that's all what stuck. Certainly not enough to make me turn in in September.

Head Cases
Brief description: JASON PAYNE (Chris O’Donnell), a superstar attorney at a prestigious Los Angeles law firm, gets kicked out of the house by his wife, LAURIE (Krista Allen) and, to make a bad day even worse, he has a nervous breakdown and is fired from his prestigious job. He then finds himself forming an alliance with fellow troubled lawyer SCHULTZ (Adam Goldberg), and the unlikely duo sets out to take on the establishment.

I am not impressed with this one either. Apart from the fact that it is your standard legal drama, the added premise with the 2 lawyers being social outcasts has theoretically some potential in my opinion but I didn't like the pilot. It was too predictable and contrived. Plus, I see enormous potential that the show moves from trying to be entertaining with their unusual cases to embarrassing and really stupid.

Chris O'Donnell was OK but I don't like Adam Goldberg, so that certainly didn't help. None of the performances stood out to me. I did like Jason's new apartment though (well that gives you an idea about the show when this is what I remembered positively).

In short - a big fat blah to not good. I won't be watching.
